A complete pump-out, solids and liquid
Most homeowners do not think about their septic tank until something goes wrong. The good news is that regular pumping is the single cheapest thing you can do to keep the rest of your system working.
A lot of what passes for a pumping is a liquid skim that leaves the sludge layer sitting on the bottom. That buys you a few months and costs you the same money. We take the tank down to the bottom.

Homes and businesses, any size tank
We pump septic tanks of any size, for homes and for businesses. Owner Matt Padgett is certified at NC Grade Level IV, certification number 11527, the highest septic installer grade North Carolina issues. For restaurants, churches, venues, retail centers, developments and other large-flow systems, see our Commercial Septic page.
How often does a septic tank need to be pumped?
A typical household needs pumping every three to five years. Tank size, how many people live in the home, and whether you run a garbage disposal all move that number. If you have lived in your house for a while and cannot remember the last time it was serviced, you are almost certainly due.
Signs your tank needs pumping
- Slow drains throughout the house
- Gurgling toilets
- Standing water or unusually green grass over the drain field
- Sewage odors in the yard
If you notice any of these, call before it becomes a backup inside the house.
What to expect when we pump your tank
- We find the tank. Don't know where your tank or lid is, or is it buried? We can locate buried lids and tanks. That work is quoted per site.
- We open it and pump it fully, removing the solids and the liquid.
- We check the baffles and the tank condition while we are in there. If we see something starting to go wrong, we tell you then. If everything looks good, we tell you that too.
- We leave the site clean.
Tired of digging for the lid every time? Ask about riser and lid installation so the tank is accessible at grade. See Septic Maintenance.
How pricing works
There is no standard price. Every quote depends on the site: where the tank is, how deep it is, and how easily the truck can reach it. Call us with your address and we will give you a straight number before we start. The number we quote is the number you pay.
Scheduling depends on location and access too, so call and we will tell you when we can get there.
Emergency septic pumping
Septic problems do not wait for business hours. Our emergency line is answered 24/7, and we are typically on site within 24 hours. Emergency rates apply. If your system is backing up into the house or overflowing into the yard, call (980) 254-7828. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Buying or selling a home?
A septic inspection is a required step in most rural property closings. We are a state-certified point-of-sale inspector, certification number 11527I, so our written report is accepted for real estate transfers in North Carolina. If the tank needs pumping as part of the inspection, we can do that too. Realtors can request both through our Realtor Inspection Request form.
